Ecclesiastes 3:1; 11 NASB  1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:  11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

When it comes to celebrating the Christmas season there are generally two groups of people. Some say you need to wait until after Thanksgiving to start decorating, shopping or playing Christmas music, and others say Christmas can’t come soon enough! But even the second group waits until after Halloween…right?

Humans are designed to observe seasons. We develop habits and traditions that reinforce the seasons of the year and the seasons of life that God designed for us. But God also instilled in us a yearning for something more: for eternity! Amidst the routine, our souls are searching for meaning and purpose. I pray this Christmas season we can look past the traditions and share the deeper meaning of the Christmas story:

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”  Luke 2:10-11 NIV
