James 1:1 (NLV) “This letter is from James. I am a servant owned by God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I greet the twelve family groups of the Jewish nation living in many parts of the world.”

The author of the Book of James was:

  1. The half-brother of Jesus.
  2. Called James the Just because of his righteous life.
  3. Known as “Camel knees” because of the calluses on his knees from all the time he spent on them in prayer.
  4. The leader (Elder) of the Church at Jerusalem.
  5. Presider over the first Jerusalem council.

His greatest desire and privilege was to be a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
