Psalm 23 NASB The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

I like to be prepared and to be in control of my life. I think everyone does, but some people are better at “going with the flow” than others!  The other night I was starting to dwell on all the things I did not have control over and was not prepared for. Then I read Psalm 23 and I felt such a peace come over me! The Holy Spirit reminded me that it’s not all about what I’m doing; it’s all about what God is doing! And God is making a way for me; He is leading me; He is restoring my soul; He is guiding me down the right path. If I can let go and follow Him like a sheep follows its shepherd, then I shall not want (I won’t lack for anything I need).
