I accepted Christ as my savior during the summer of 1999: July 27th to
be exact. I had just gotten back from Falls Creek. This was the first
time I had been and I was unhappy the entire time although I hid it
pretty well. God had been dealing with me for a while but I had in my
mind that because I went down to the altar when I was five and
the preacher had prayed for me that I was saved. I knew that I wasn't I
think inside, but that was easy didnt have to make any comittments. I
had been going to the church I was at for about a year and God put the
pastor and youth pastor in my life for a reason. Their teaching and
counsel showed me what I already knew: that I needed God. I needed to
accept Christ's sacrifice for me but I just kept putting it off and
claiming to be a Christian. Finally the week after we got back from
camp I was in my room thinking about some things I had been doing and
it hit me. God spoke to me and showed me this isn't what a Christian
does. This is not a Christian life. So I prayed right then I knew what I needed to do so I did then Christ came in and changed my life. About a year after I got saved God called me into the ministry. Then I ended up coming to Hillsdale for my degree. I left then a couple of years later came back and that is when I got envolved at Heartland and pretty much fell in love with the church and Bro. Dennis and Leanne. It's such a caring, loving church and I thank God for them everyday.
